Looks with Purpose

Looks with small reflections to help us navigate our evolution

WHere do you Feel tension

As you may have read before, the body hears everything and feels everything that happens to us through life. The body has the power to believe whatever we tell her. There is a great documental in NETFLIX named Heal, it is a great testimony of this precisely. Are you aware that wherever in your body where you feel tension is where your stress, negative feelings and judgement resides?. If you are experiencing tension in your back, stress eating or even biting your nails.?

When Do You Find the Time?

In a life where we are too busy judging ourselves and living a life of discomfort from within because we don’t accept ourselves, we hardly have time to loving who we are. Mother Theresa once said: If you judge people, you have no time to love them.” this applies to self-acceptance as well. Sometimes we do it such at an unconscious that we don’t even realize we are doing it. Spend some time thinking about how much negativity we are pouring to ourselves on a daily basis.

Nailing It

Abraham Maslow says “I suppose it is tempting, if the only tool you have is a hammer, to treat everything as if it were a nail.” This is Maslow’s famous Law of the instrument, emphasizes the challenges of depeding too heavily on our judgments: they have too much bias and are filled with prejudices and the binoculars of our personal history. As we have discussed before when we judge ourselves and others too harshly we are likely approaching the situation from a very limited perspective.

Listen to Yourself

We live our lives must of the time in automatic pilot. We say things to ourselves that are not true, we exaggerate to feel better or worse, and we use language that is hurtful without even knowing we are doing it or why we do it. We are letting the programming in the automatic pilot lead our lives.

Taking it to the Next Level

In order to advance powerfully and achieve the results we want, we ought to take risks. A thorough analysis of ourselves to find out where we continue to play small in our lives is needed. Confronting the resistance that we organically possess to enter the unknown is necessary. We need to transform the way we do things and the way we think to go to the next level and attain success, fulfillment, intimacy, love, prestige whatever we want. To do this, we need to face our fears and feel the vulnerability that comes with it. It is a very uncomfortable space, but what is the alternative: living a life getting the same results, doing the same things and leaving behind our potential and living a life of adventure, purpose and meaning?.

Open to transform

If we have been experiencing a consistent struggle we need to examine how our actions and thoughts are attracting this struggle. Examining the behaviors and vibrations that we create that are playing a key role in recruiting this struggle is essential as well as a willingness to change and modify ourselves in order to get rid of this constant struggle.

Letting Go

When things don't go as planned and you feel really passionate about your goals, it is easy to become overwhelmed and when that happens we tend to try to force things to go our way. In the process of doing so, our entire body feels the tension and the stress that we are experiencing. Our minds send signals of control to the body and that is when our body tenses and we start experiencing back and muscle pain, as a result of this regid tension. This tension creates knots in our bodies and these knots block the fluidity of our energy. We exhaust ourselves trying to control the situation and by doing so we end up accomplishing less.

Why are We So Hard on Ourselves

Some days we are hard on ourselves without realizing that when we do it our entire body is receiving the message that we are not good enough. As I was reading my daily meditation, I realized that as human beings we have a tendency of putting ourselves down. Whether is subtle or not as subtle we get mad at ourselves for all sorts of things. I used to get very upset when I got sick and this indicates that I was been unkind to my body and my soul. I learned today that whenever we are hard on ourselves we are sending the message to our body that we are not good enough.

Happy Valentine’s.

Worthiness

As I embarked in a journey of well being and consciousness what I have learned is that our feelings of worthiness or unworthiness are what dictates how much abundance, love, success, pleasure and fun we will allow ourselves to receive. As I started building my new company and my endeavor of writing this blog, I realized how attached our feelings of self worth are tied up with what we do, what we have accomplished and how we look. That is not true worthiness, our worth does not come from our successes and our looks. It was so hard for me to realize that our self worth comes from who we are and not what we do.

Joy to the world

What happens when everyone is singing joy to the world and we are having a hard day. We all have days that seem very difficult and hard, I had one yesterday and I has so many plans and things to work on and I had to push through. As my daily journal refers to we may feel like we're standing in the ocean getting hit by wave after wave, never able to get a full breath. At times it's needed or worth it to stay in the fray and work our way through. Other times, the best idea is to go home and take the breath we need in order to carry on and other times eat cookies and milk and have a good night sleep.
