Looks with Purpose

Looks with small reflections to help us navigate our evolution

Never a doll moment

This month I am not only excited to spend sometimes with my parents later in the month but also I will work on my brand “Exquisite Life” which I am designing with one of my best friends": Luis Gratz. This brand reflects in the most authentic way, my belief on the power of making every outfit and unique with the power of a multi functional accessory. A sound investment because you can use it to create incredible ensembles. Enhancing all outfits and silhouettes. An exclusive collection of bows, cuffs, collars and shoe accessories to elevate your everyday outfit. This bow that I am wearing is from Exquisite Life and can be worn with dresses, coats, as shawls and many other options. This exclusive collection will be available in 2019.

WHEN WE NEED OURSELVES MORE

The Holidays come with Magic, Joy and sometimes a bit of despair. It is a time where you ask yourself many questions and if things are not going the way you wanted you may feel down and quite depressed. I want you to know that in every life, there comes a time when we face the core of our resilience when we question ourselves if we can deal with losses beyond our control, heartache that can crush us and situations where we feel everything is shattering. What then?. You will be relieved to know that from Kafka to Buddhism in confrontation with personal crisis there is an ENORMOUS gain during these times when all seems to be lost. Albert Camus himself asserted that “there is no love of life without despair of life,” Chödrön reframes those moments of acute despair as opportunities for befriending life by befriending ourselves in the deepest sense. If we commit ourselves to staying right where we are, then our experience becomes very vivid. Things become very clear when there is nowhere to escape.

Pink is my New Red

Venturing into the Holiday Season I realized I was choosing rose gold, mauve, millennial pink and pastels for my favorite occasions. I spent a lifetime living the Season in Red and of course is not off the table but I am strongly getting these blush vibes. I have always pay attention to my moods and let the way I feel and the way I want to feel guide my choices. I also have a romantic crush with blush since it is my mom’s favorite color. Expressing ourselves through our choices in clothing feels so liberating it is like applying an extra layer of emotion and creativity into our lives. Which color are you feeling this season? I feel I need to get a Santa dressed in Blush this weekend! Good vibes everyone!

Today the Universe is Listening More than You think

As you know I am a firm believer of the power of the practice of Gratitude. The bio-psycho-social-spiritual benefits of this practice are well documented as feeling gratitude can impact metabolic processes, how one feels, relates TO OTHERS, AND HOW ONE THINKS. There is an article taken from the Book of Daily Affirmations that says the Oprah attributes much of her success to the power of gratitude. In addition a study from Harvard says that expressing gratitude is the simplest and fastest ways to improve your wellbeing. I am convinced that the more I am grateful, the more blessings I receive. When we feel gratitude our spirit uplifts and with it, your power of manifestation amplifies. Here are some affirmations to support your practice of gratitude today:

Gratitude Reflection

I am truly excited of all of you who are doing the 45 days to a better self challenge, I am truly grateful for your messages and your love and I want you to know that I am here for you and cheering you all the way. I had surgery a few months ago and had to stop going to my beloved Bar Method (exercise) I was recently cleared by the doctor and I am back. Going back was a hard and humbling experience (considering I have been exercising literally every day of my life) but I feel immensely grateful that I am able to be back and as hard as it may seemed, I am with Nike on this one. “JUST DO IT”

2019 Starts Today

The most difficult thing is the decision too act, the rest is merely tenacity. You can do anything you decide to do today. As I was stretching after my bar class this morning something occurred to me, I did not have to wait for January first to do a list of my wellness objectives for 2019, I decided to go home and buy me one month and 15 days of intentional work toward my goals today. There are 8 different areas in which I can focus: 1. Health and Body 2. Emotional Spiritual and Personal Growth 3. Intimate Relationship 4. Social and Fun 5. Family and Friends 6. Work and Career 7. Money and Finances and 8. Community and Giving. How can I build on the momentum of the energy I feel today and choose from these areas to start working toward my future self in 45 days from today.

The Flow of your Thoughts

Where your attention goes, energy flows. What you choose to focus on in life is Magnified. As my daily journal says: Greatness is a state of mind and cultivating that state takes daily practice. There is no magic pill for personal growth; it happens as a result of diligent, consistent inner work, and from building a solid foundation for your life to expand upon.

I love the colors of fall and the love affair we have in our family for all things apple, cinnamon and pumpkin related.  However, this Fall feels a bit different for me, with a lot of changes in my life, I made a point of including another type of leaves in my routine this Autumn “tea leaves”.

THE white rabbit OF ALICE IN WONDERLAND

Alice in Wonderland has way too many amazing characters but today for Halloween, I decided to go for the White Rabbit. Some “Oh, how I wish I could shut up like a telescope! I think I could, if only I knew how to begin.” For, you see, so many out-of-the-way things had happened lately, that Alice had begun to think that very few things indeed were really impossible. —Chapter 1, Down the Rabbit-Hole.

WOMEN WHO RUN IN HEELS SHOULD BE FEARED

Women who run in heels should be feared. I could truly swear I was born in high heels, but I was NOT. I actually had two left feet and in order to solve this challenge my mom (since I was about 4) had me wearing a metal brace for my feet every night to correct the problem, and that was a true torture. In addition, I wore orthopedic boots as a child and I clearly remember the first day of my first grade experience in elementary school, the girls in my classroom truly found my orthopedic boots “odd looking” to say the least. After restlessness nights as a toddler with the brace and the very unfortunate looking orthopedic shoes I decided that I was going to be the Queen of Shoes.

RESILIENCE

We all need resilience to live a fulfilling life. With resilience, you’ll be more prepared to take on challenges, to develop your talents, skills, and abilities so that you can live with more purpose and more joy. “Change leads to disappointment if it is not sustained. Transformation is sustained change, and it is achieved through practice.” Never cease chiseling your own statue. It has been such an interesting week for me, I am grateful for the opportunities to learn and transform.

I AM ONE OF THE CRAZY ONES

I am one of the crazy ones who believe you can change the world with your ideas and moreover with your actions. All my current work is based on the creation of intentional legacy programs and the power of empowerment and participation. However, sometimes I do not wake up with the same vibrant energy, sometimes I just wish I could press a fast forward key.
